1806-1945...Vorwartz!

Vorwartz!

Hello everyone,
A somewhat special post today ...
Let's cross a century and a half in the company of Prussians, then Germans...

1806

So, let's start with the bicornes,
Napoleon must be fought, and victory is certain
for this splendid army ... Auerstaedt and Jena will soon be monumental surprises ...

1806 Prussian line infantry, Strachwitz regiment.

1806 Prussian line infantry, Sanitz regiment.

1806 Prussian Fusilers.

1806 Prussian Jâgers.

1806, Prussian artillery.

1806, Prussian Henchell regiment and command.

1806 - Napoleon enters Berlin. He took the opportunity to grab the Quadriga
of the Brandenburg Gate, in the back of this drawing...the beginning of a symbol.

Let's find this army a few years later, the bicorn disappears
and the spirit of revenge animates every regiment ...

1813 : Prussian Jâger guards.

1813 : Prussian foot Guard.

1813 : Prussian Guard Grenadiers

Frederick William II enters under the door triumphantly in 1814 ...
after collecting the Quadriga, and installed a new eagle.

1870

Arrival of the spiked helmet, protection against
more effective and more distant ranges weapons.

1870, Cuirrassiers regiment.

The proclamation of the German Empire on January 18, 1871, the door takes on festive clothes.

The 1870 scars do not heal, and the First World War begins...

1914

1914 German line infantry.

1914 German machine gun.

1914 German artillery.

The cavalry is still used in recognition, but becomes obsolete ...

1914 German cavalry.

WW1 German artillery.

1914, défilé sous les portes de Brandeburg...
1914, parade under the doors of Brandenburg ...

Second World War, camouflage and weapons are more and more effective ...

WW2, mitrailleuse en abri.
WW2, MG in shelter.

WW2, mitrailleuse et ruines...
WW2, ruins and German Machine Gun.

WW2, Infanterie allemande.
WW2, German infantry.

Raus, schnell.!

The door ... in 1945 ... Only two horses are still standing,
the rest bears the scars of the battle of Berlin.

Today, after a hectic restoration : initially without the Eagle of Prussia or the Iron Cross ... elements added after reunification ... but that's another story!

Merci à tous, Thanks everyone, Vielen Dank an alle...

Phil.

Welcome to Пётр Мартовицкий

  6. Very nice I have an 1806 and 1813 Prussian Army in 15m. Just one point by 1805 the sergeants spontoons had been abolished in the Prussian Army. I reused the figures by drilling them all out and replacing the spontoons with 25mm scale metal javelins and used them as standard bearers.

  10. Thats an excellent post phil, very cool seeing the nation through time. I've thought of that at times that the prussuan troops we play fighting in 1813-15 may have been the ancestors of the troops of 1914 or 1940's.

  13. Hi Phil,i like the theme of the regimental ages of Prussians & Germans set against the back drop of the Brandenburg Gate,a symbolic thing now fully restored.
    Splendid looking model soldiers too.
i especially like the scratch built stuff too.
It all helps create illusion by way of photo shots.
So well done on another good topic, that`s well worth looking at. BB
